Introducing my new client satisfaction survey!
I’m always looking for ways to improve my practice, both clinically (what happens in our sessions) and otherwise (policies, procedures, etc.). But sometimes it is hard to know how things come across to others and if things are working as I’m intending them to, or if I’m missing something that I wouldn’t even think of.
This is where client feedback comes in!
I also know, however, that sometimes it can feel difficult to bring feedback up in sessions. And while I try to ask for it, I may not always do so regularly enough or at the time when you have something you want to tell me. So it has felt important for me to find a way to obtain feedback from those who want to give it while making the process as comfortable as possible.
Part of the intended comfort comes from it being in written form rather that in a video session. Sometimes people find it easier to give feedback in writing, because you can think about the words you want to use, and feel less “on the spot” than when I ask for feedback in session.
Another source of comfort may be the option for anonymity. The website that I use for these surveys is completely separate from Simple Practice (my health records system where specific client information is kept), and you do not have to put your name on the survey. I do have an option where you can put your name, just in case you would like me to know who you are, or if you’d like me to bring up your feedback in session (sometimes it’s hard to bring up questions or concerns, but it can be easier if I do it instead).
There is nothing in particular to gain or lose by doing the survey (e.g. you will not be rewarded for completing the survey or for any particular responses that you give, or receive negative consequences for not completing the survey or for particular responses that you give), other than the chance to improve your therapy experience. You can feel free to complete the survey as often as you like, whenever you have something you’d like to tell me.
Non-clients (i.e. prospective clients, professionals, etc.) can also feel free to complete the survey if you have feedback you’d like to share, but please note somewhere on the survey that you are not a client so that I understand what perspective the feedback is coming from.
The survey will be available at the top of my website, where it says “Survey,” and you can also take it by clicking here.
I look forward to seeing your feedback!
